Most of us have experienced some form of virtual learning and dependency on technology over the past year, and if you're like us, you're ready to peel your child away from the screen this summer.
While experts say that between 1-2 hours of screen time is reasonable for 5-17 year olds, it's important to find ways to have simple at-home activities on hand for when it's time to turn off the tablet. Here are some ideas that we came up with;
Make slime- channel their inner scientist with this 3 ingredient project
Explore nature around your house, taking photos and sketching what you see
Pop a tent and go camping in the backyard
Make popsicles with these kid friendly recipes
Play Frisbee (or better yet, play night frisbee using a light up frisbee)
Write a Summer Bucket List to hear everyone's interests
Make paper airplanes and have a flight contest
Craft with Duct Tape. Try this duct tape wallet or this duct tape braided belt
Go to the zoo
Play charades with this Charades Generator
Play boardgames
The ideas are endless!
